Serious Issues the Entirety of FIRST Faces
A Message from Alex
Aviation started my first year, they are team 1983. Now, my fourth year, we are at team number 3100. An increase of 1100 teams approxamately, correct? Well no. My first year there were 1305 teams at competitions, when we barely reached 1983 in team numbers. Now, four years later, there were teams numbering in the 3000's, but only 1683 teams competing.
378 teams out of 1100 new numbers only 378 are still there. DON'T LET THEM GO AWAY!!!
That means a full 2/3 of new teams did not stick with it. (assuming that it was new teams (such as Lincoln) folding.)
This next year, please work to sustain the existing teams rather than expand to new ones, perhaps.
The economy is going to seriously threaten MANY MANY teams, so help other teams out as much as you possibly can so they will still be around next year.
